Overview
PallyHelper helps the Paladin by saving some valuable mana when healing, automatically announcing when you are (nearly) out of mana, and allowing the Paladin to bless partymembers simply, consistently and above all quickly.
Healing
As you will be aware, healing is very mana intensive for Paladins; often you will find yourself out of mana before the end of the battle. PallyHelper helps you with this by automatically selecting the appropriate rank of Holy Light, according to the actual amount of healing needed by your target.
For a full view of how PallyHelper heals, view the readme included in the mod. Some of the main features include:
· Save mana by healing with the lowest rank Holy Light required to heal your target.
· Automatic detection of your highest rank Holy Light; no need to change any settings or scripts whenever you visit the trainer!
· Heal yourself by default unless you're targeting a friendly player; ideal for tanks and solo players!
· Automatically announce your healing casts to your party so everyone knows what you're up to. (this can be turned off in the configuration menu)
Blessing
Many party members will greatly appreciate your blessings, but everyone wants a different one! So there you are, trying to remember which blessing each party member wants, and then you have pets as well! PallyHelper adds a bless button next to every party member and every pet in your party. This button defaults to a sensible blessing for every party member and can be easily changed by right clicking the button and selecting a different blessing from the bar that pops up. To cast a blessing on a party member simply click the button.
For full details on how the blessing buttons work, read the readme file. Some of the main features are:
· Bless both party members and party pets, with one click of a button.
· Never forget which blessing a party member wants, set it once and use it over and over again!
· Automatic detection of your highest rank for each blessing; never change a setting or a script file whenever you learn a new rank, or a new blessing altogether.
· Also usable when you're playing alone, so you won't even need to keep your blessings on your actionbars!
· The buttons appear like action bar buttons but they don't take up any of the 120 action buttons the game limits you to!
· Automatically tell your party when you change your blessing settings and / or when you cast a blessing. (this can be turned off in the configuration menu)
Out of Mana!
PallyHelper can detect when you're out of mana, and automatically send an /oom emote (which makes you yell 'I'm out of mana!'). Now you can focus on the real job instead of typing '/oom' every time you're near the end of your mana, just let PallyHelper do it for you!
· Fully configurable, announce it always, only when you're in a party, or never announce at all.
· You can set the threshold at which out of mana is announced, anywhere from 1% to 25%.
Configuration
To use the PallyHelper healing from your action bar you will need to set up a very simple macro in the game. The readme file provides step by step instructions on how to set up and use this macro.
When you type /PallyHelper a configuration menu will open allowing you to change several settings for PallyHelper. You can change several things here, including which reports to make to your party, whether to show or hide the blessing buttons, and if you're having trouble you can enable debug messages.
Future plans
I consider PallyHelper complete as it is, but I still have some wishes and I know there will be other people with wishes as well. Some ideas I'm playing around with are the following:
· Notification when your blessing nearly times out, so you know to re-bless yourself and your party.
· Localisation; this is for you guys, I play English WoW!
· Raid support / greater blessing support. PallyHelper works in raids, but only adds blessing buttons to your own party. Greater blessings aren't supported at this moment.
· Changing default blessings. Every class has a default blessing which they are assigned when they join your party, in the future I would like to see this default changeable.
Important information
Before you use PallyHelper, please, take a few minutes to read the readme. It explains how the healing and blessing works so that you know how to get the most out of it.
Please enjoy PallyHelper, I find it extremely useful while playing and I hope you will too. If you have any comments, feature requests, bug reports etc don't hesitate to post them, after all this is the only way PallyHelper will get better!
Have fun!
